Private servers operate in a legal gray area. Gemstone WoW does not distribute Blizzard's intellectual property. You need to obtain the WoW client independently. We provide a server for players to connect to using their own game client.

Open your WoW folder, navigate to Data/enUS/ (or Data/enGB/), open realmlist.wtf with a text editor, and set the contents to: set realmlist logon.gemstonewow.com

Yes! If you already have a WoW 3.3.5a client, you just need to change the realmlist to connect to Gemstone WoW. However, our HD client includes visual enhancements you won't get with a standard client.

Make sure your realmlist.wtf is set correctly to set realmlist logon.gemstonewow.com. Also ensure you're launching WoW.exe, not Launcher.exe. If the issue persists, check our Discord for server status updates.

Gemstone WoW offers a Blizzlike experience rate (1x). This means leveling takes the same amount of time as it did on the original WotLK servers, providing an authentic experience.

Yes, all WotLK raids and dungeons are fully scripted including Icecrown Citadel, Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader, Naxxramas, Eye of Eternity, Obsidian Sanctum, and all 5-man dungeons with both normal and heroic modes.

Yes! We have active arena seasons with rewards, regular battleground activity, and a Wintergrasp battle schedule. Check the ladder page to see current PvP rankings.

Currently we do not offer character transfers from other servers. All players start fresh to maintain a fair and balanced economy.

Yes. All passwords are securely hashed and we use HTTPS encryption for all web traffic. We never share your data with third parties.

We have a zero tolerance policy for cheating, hacking, exploiting, and toxic behavior. Using third-party programs (bots, speed hacks, fly hacks) results in permanent bans. Full rules are available on our Discord server.

Gemstone WoW officially supports Windows 10 and Windows 11. macOS users can play using Wine or Crossover. Linux users can play through Wine/Lutris.

You need approximately 30 GB of free disk space for the full HD client installation.
